 Nearing Completion and Under Construction

  • New CVS Development - 1617 Canyon Drive - Clock Tower erected and CVS building under construction. Completion anticipated by Summer 2019.
  • DaVita Dialysis Clinic - 1335 Pinole Valley Road - Building shell completion anticipated by Summer 2019 and tenant improvements by Fall of 2019.
  • Bay Park Landslide - 2621 Appian Way - New Retaining wall completed. Awaiting building permit application submittal for private roadway, parking lot, and utility replacement. 
  • Happy Ramen Restaurant - 1907 San Pablo Avenue (former Green Lantern tavern) - Building Permit issued, expected completion Fall 2019. 
  • P2P - 1506 Fitzgerald Drive. Fitness training facility. Building Permit issued, expected completion Fall/Winter 2019.
  • 1409 & 1431 Nob Hill - Two (2) Single-Family residential structures. 
  • 808 & 810 E Meadow Avenue - Two (2) Single-Family residential structures, lot line adjustment to create single parcel with four (4) homes total (accompanies 816 E Meadow Avenue permit).

 Planning Approval/Construction Plan Check

 

  • East Bay Ophthalmology Center - 1289 Pinole Valley Road.  ~6,900 square foot medical office building. Approved Planning Commission April 2019.
  • 7-Eleven/Union 76 Convenience Store and Gas Station Renovation - 2401 Appian Way (currently a Valero Gas Station) - New convenience store and new fueling canopy and fueling system.  Approved by Planning Commission April 2019. 
  • West Coast Arborists, Inc.- 760 San Pablo Avenue - Contractor’s yard including remodeling existing 2,000 s.f. metal building, resurfacing of existing paved area and addition of new paving. Approved by Planning Commission May 2019.
  • New Triplex - 1479 San Pablo Avenue - Three attached residential units. Approved by Planning Commission June 2019.
  • McDonald's Restaurant Renovation - 1402 Tara Hills Drive - Remodel of the existing building  and improvements to the site. Approved by Planning Division June 2019.
  • Westcat Bus Washing Replacement Facility - 650 Pinole Shores Drive - Request to replace existing bus washing facility with new facility that can accommodate larger sized buses. Building permit issued. Completion anticipated by Summer 2019.  

Under Review by Planning

 

  • Making Waves Academy Pinole Campus - Application submitted for Design Review and Sign Program of a new K-4th public school campus on a 7.8 acre infill parcel at 2151 Appian Way. The project includes the demolition of the existing Tenet Medical building and construction of two state of the art two-story classroom buildings, a multi-purpose building and an administrative building totaling 95,250 square feet and outdoor space. Making Waves will be holding a community meeting on Wednesday, August 28th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in the Pinole Youth Center to discuss the development of the proposed elementary school at the former Doctor's Hospital site on Appian Way.  Click HERE for view the flyer.
  • Hazel Drive Four-Lot  Subdivision / Design Review for single family development and Development Agreement for roadway connection to Sunnyview Drive, West end of Hazel Drive. Project is under review and expected to be considered by the Planning Commission and City Council Fall/Winter 2019.    
  • Extra Space Mini-Storage - 890 San Pablo Avenue - New three-story mini-storage project located on the property immediately west of Crockett’s Auto Body. Awaiting environmental documentation results. Project anticipated to be considered Summer 2019. 
  • Pinole Square - Southwest intersection of Appian Way and Tara Hills Drive.  Application submitted to renovate and expand the existing Safeway Grocery store and add a new gas station and construct new commercial pad buildings. Application deemed incomplete. Awaiting additional information from applicant. Currently completing environmental review and expected to be heard by the Planning Commission Fall 2019.   
  • Pinole Woods, 100+ unit senior housing development - 1106 San Pablo Avenue - Application submitted April 26, 2019.  Preparing plans for joint session of the Planning Commission and City Council. 

Land Use News 

  • Orchard Supply Hardware (OSH) will now be ACE Hardware – Grand Opening early August 2019
