Police Department's Video Reporting Now Available

Are you too busy and can't wait for an officer to respond or can't make it into the police department but need to report a crime or talk to an officer? Using your favorite platform such as Facebook Portal, FaceTime, or Skype you can now make reports to our Community Outreach Officer on Tuesdays and Thursdays 11 AM to 1 PM.

To use video reporting:

  • The crime is not an emergency or an incident needing immediate officer response
  • You are at least 18-years-old
  • You have a working Email address
  • The crime/incident occurred within the City of Pinole but did NOT occur on the freeway
  • Evidence collection is not required


Video reporting CANNOT be used if any of the following are true:

  • You know who committed the crime
  • You have evidence related to the crime such as photographs and/or video
  • The damage or value is over $5,000
  • The lost or stolen property includes a firearm
  • The lost or stolen property is a motorized vehicle
  • The lost of stolen property includes a license plate
