City of Pinole: Business Licenses

The City of Pinole requires a Business License for all business operations whether in a home or a fixed place of business in Pinole. Applications are available at City offices, 2131 Pear Street, First Floor, Pinole, CA 94564. The flat fees are for a calendar year and will be prorated quarterly, based upon the starting date of the business.

BUSINESS LICENSE RATES - CALENDAR YEAR 2010

Fixed place of business in Pinole (includes Pinole contractors & home based businesses)

Basic Fee (includes owner plus 1 employee) -- $114.00
Additional employees (2-19) -- add $17.00 per employee
Additional employees (20 or more) -- add $12.00 per employee

* Fees are reduced by 25% at the beginning of each new Quarter of the Year.
** Fixed Businesses add $25 for Inspection Fee

Basic Fee -- $114.00

Outside Contractor - use Contractor's Business License form

Annual license -- $173.00
Six month license -- $95.00

Additional Lanes -- $39.00 per lane

Business License Renewal Information

All Pinole Business Licenses issued are effective on a calendar year basis of January 1st through December 31st or any portion thereof. Business Licenses expire on December 31 of each year and renewals are due and payable on the first day of January of each year. Failure to pay the license tax within thirty (30) days from the date due will result in a penalty of 50% of the total license tax.

A renewal notice is sent out as a courtesy to all businesses with an active Business License at least 30 days before the expiration date. If you do not receive a renewal notice it is the Business Owner's responsibility to pay the tax by January 31st.
