Summer Sounds and Outdoor Cinema at Pinole's Fernandez Park
PINOLE – This summer Pinole offers free weekly entertainment for the whole family at Fernandez Park. Relax and enjoy watching movies under the stars at the Outdoor Cinema and listening to music at Summer Sounds in the Park which kicks off with Portuguese World Music on Thursday, July 8. The Outdoor Cinema showcases movies every Friday evening starting at sundown, July 9 through August 27. Movies are all family friendly themes including Up, Star Trek, Princess and the Frog, Night at the Museum and more. The Outdoor Cinema is an engaging and vibrant program that complements the City of Pinole’s well-renowned Summer Sounds in the Park. Residents and neighbors are encouraged to stroll through Pinole Old Town and explore the myriad of shops and restaurants. Everyone is invited to bring blankets and sleeping bags for kids and adults alike for watching movies in the park. For an extra treat, the Senior Center is hosting a Pasta Feed on Friday, July 23 at 6:00pm. It’s dinner for the whole family to enjoy before heading to the park to watch Alvin & the Chipmunks. Tickets are available pre-sale or at the door for only $8 for adults, $5 for children or a family special of $20 for a family of four with children under 12. The pasta feed includes pasta, salad, garlic bread and ice cream.
The popular Summer Sounds in the Park continues on Thursday evenings from 6:30pm – 8:00pm, July 8 through August 26. Every year people gather to listen to bands showcasing a variety of musical styles and talents. Several new bands are performing this year with music ranging from Celtic Rock, Portuguese World Music, Blues & Soul, Cajun and more. Relax with dinner in the park as Dash & Dine youth waiters take orders and deliver food fresh from local restaurants while concertgoers enjoy music.
