BIKE THE BRIDGES (SPECIAL OLYMPICS)

On June 9th, the Pinole Police Department will be supporting the Special Olympics Northern California in the 4th Annual Bike the Bridges benefit ride. Several officers from the both the Pinole and Hercules Police Departments along with community members have teamed up and will be riding 25, 56, or 100 miles to raise awareness and support for the Special Olympic athletes. In addition to those riding, several police employees will be supporting the riders at one of the many rest stops along the routes.

We’re hoping to build on the success of our team from last year and the overall success of the event where nearly 600 riders raised $60,000 for the Special Olympics. Please help us support the Special Olympics by joining our team, starting your own team, riding as an individual, volunteering at one of the several rest stops or as a SAG (support and gear) vehicle driver, or by making a donation to our team (or an individual rider). Thank you in advance.

We’ll also be running in the Law Enforcement Torch Run on June 25th through Old Town Pinole, receiving the torch from Richmond PD and passing it on to Hercules PD.

Contact Sergeant Matt Avery for more information, 510-724-8962 or mavery@ci.pinole.ca.us
